Panellists include Diatou Ndiaye, Project Management Officer, Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR), Ismael Kawooya, Senior Research Scientist & Head-of-Office, The Center for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (ACRES), and Violet Murunga, Senior Research & Policy Associate, African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP). The session will be moderated by Joanes Atela, Founder & Executive Director of the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN).
Description: As part of USAID’s Learning & Evidence Month, the Africa LEEPS (Learning Together to Advance Evidence and Equity in Policymaking to Achieve the SDGs) Partnership is hosting a virtual session titled Local Solutions, Global Impact: How African Organizations Lead in Building Evidence Systems for Inclusive Development. LEEPS is an African-led initiative that aims to strengthen knowledge translation – how evidence is produced, translated, and used in policymaking in sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on promoting gender equity at all stages of the policymaking process. In two rounds of discussion, panellists will explore:
1) Locally led approaches to strengthening knowledge translation in Africa and
2) Collaborative cross-region learning as an approach to jointly solve problems and facilitate complex evidence system strengthening efforts. .
